Our Mission

Research papers shouldn't require a second PhD to understand. Academic knowledge is produced at an extraordinary rate — tens of thousands of papers are published every month — yet the format has barely changed in decades: dense paragraphs, tables buried in appendices, and equations with no plain-English explanation.

What We Built

PaperVision AI is a research paper visualization and summarization engine built on two core principles: visual clarity and absolute privacy.

Privacy-First Architecture

When you upload a PDF, text is extracted entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. The raw PDF file never leaves your device. Only the extracted text is sent — encrypted — to our AI pipeline, and even that text is processed ephemerally: it is never stored on any server we operate.

This makes PaperVision AI safe for:

  • Unpublished research and conference submissions under embargo
